CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The National Conference on Social Work and HIV/AIDS, founded in 1988, is an annual event dedicated to empowering social workers, allied health professionals, and individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS. This conference offers invaluable networking opportunities, practical tools, and educational sessions to equip attendees with the latest strategies and insights for enhancing care and advocacy within their organizations and communities. This year, we aim to create a dynamic environment where participants can deepen their knowledge, engage intellectually and emotionally, and leave with a renewed commitment to this critical work.

The 37th National Conference on Social Work and HIV/AIDS, theme "From Awareness to Action: Advancements in HIV/AIDS and Social Work," will focus on bridging the gap between understanding and practical application in HIV/AIDS care. The conference will highlight recent advancements in HIV/AIDS research, treatment, and prevention and explore how these developments can be effectively implemented in social work practice. Attendees will engage with leading experts through presentations, discussions, and interactive sessions to gain insights into translating knowledge into actionable strategies. The event aims to inspire and equip social workers with the tools and approaches necessary to enhance care, support, and advocacy for those affected by HIV/AIDS.

We are seeking session proposals that focus on a wide range of critical topics, including policy and systemic change from a top-down approach, HIV and aging, ethics in social work practice, ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic, HIV/AIDS criminalization, youth and transgender issues, housing, and comprehensive medical care. Sessions should aim to provide actionable insights and strategies that will empower attendees to address these challenges effectively in their communities and organizations.
