SOLHA Certification

In 2023, PASWHA developed a specialty practice credential in response to the expressed need of its members and to support PASWHA members in the competitive workplace.

The SOLHA credential recognizes Social Workers who have:

Met national standards of knowledge, skills, and experience in the field of Social Work Practice with OPLWHA
Obtained nine credit hours of specialized course work in health, mental health, person-in-environment, and health equity
Agreed to abide by the NASW Code of Ethics, the NASW Standards and Indicators for Cultural Competence in Social Work Practice, and NASW Standards for Continuing Professional Education

The SOLHA designates competency in the domains of Health, Mental Health, Person-In-Environment, and Health Equity.

SOLHA Courses qualify for continuing education through Collaborative Solutions.

Collaborative Solutions, Inc. (ACE Provider Approval #1548) is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.

Become SOLHA certified

For Individual PASWHA members, SOLHA costs $350 ($200 recertification).

For Individual non-PASWHA members, SOLHA costs $450 ($250 recertification).

PASWHA Organizational Leaders (budgets <$1 million), you will receive 35% off certification cost and 10% off re-certification.

PASWHA Community Champions (budgets > $1 million), you will receive 25% off certification cost and 10% off re-certification.

1. Register & Purchase SOLHA Certification online courses:

2. Attend the required 5 Foundational (101) SOLHA courses offered at PASWHA’s National Conference on Social Work in HIV/AIDS (NCSWH) in 2024 or 2025

3. Attend the two 102 courses offered at PAWHA’s Fall Learning Lab (dates TBD)

4. Attend the two 102 courses offered in PASWHA’s Spring Learning Lab (dates TBD)

5. Complete Online Learning component for each course attended

Sign into the PASWHA member portal
Go to “online learning,” select course that correspond and complete the SOLHA additional readings, knowledge test and reflective practice for each course

6. Once each course and online component is complete (and passed!) you will get your official certification!

FAQ

How long will it take to complete SOLHA certification?

SOLHA certification can be completed within 12 months by attending the National Social Work Conference on HIV/AIDS (NCSWH) and attending PASWHA’s Spring and Fall Learning Labs via webinar.

How do I recertify SOLHA?

SOLHA recertification must be completed within 24 months of the original certification date. Once SOLHA Certified, you can re-certify every two years when you complete 4 advanced courses available Fall/Spring online or at the National Conference on Social Work in HIV/AIDS (NCSWH).

What are the requirements to attain SOLHA?

Participants in SOLHA complete 9 continuing education courses, including

101 SOLHA Person In Environment (PIE)
101 SOLHA Health Equity
102 SOLHA Health or 201 Advanced Health

How much does SOLHA cost?

How do we gain access to online modules?

Follow this link, create a username and account for member portal, pay the one time registration fee, then login to portal.
Once logged in, go to resources, online learning, and find all the SOLHA courses there labeled.
Simply work through each course, additional readings, knowledge assessments, and reflections.
You will receive your certification once you pay the registration fee, attend each course, and complete each corresponding online module.
